Listening: Ira Glass on Storytelling

enflagThis video is aimed at writers and people who do creative work, but the first time I’ve seen it I was so inspired by it that I thought it could easily apply to other contexts, other professionals and to people who love and believe in their job.

I suggest you watch it once, just to get the picture of it, and afterwards accomplish the mission I have for you:

1) Watch the video again and find a phrasal verb which means to discover, decide;

2) Find a phrasal verb which means to experience, examine, perform;

3) Find a phrasal verb which means to move fast enough to become equal or on a par with another;

4) Find 2 collocations/phrasal verbs with get (verb) + phase (noun).

brflagEste vídeo foi pensado para escritores e pessoas relacionadas a criação e arte, mas quando vi pela primeira vez fiquei tão inspirada que pensei que esse material poderia tranquilamente se aplicar a outros contextos, profissões e pessoas que amam e acreditam em seu trabalho.

Minha sugestão é que primeiro vocês assistam inteiro, para simplesmente sentir a mensagem e, em seguida, cumpram a missão que lhes apresento:

1) Assista ao vídeo novamente e encontre um phrasal verb que significa descobrir, decidir;

2) Encontre um phrasal verb que significa experimentar, examinar, desempenhar;

3) Encontre um phrasal verb que significa apertar o passo para se equiparar ou atualizar com alguma outra coisa/pessoa;

4) Encontre 2 collocations/phrasal verbs com o verbo get + substantivo phase.
